One theme. Three films. A deeper way to watch movies.
If you’re looking to deepen your knowledge of film, to become more connected to the movies you love, to amplify your status as a cinema buff, then Film Flights are for you!
What is a Film Flight?
Film Flights are curated cinematic journeys. Just like a restaurant flight offers you a curated sampling of wines, beers, or dishes that complement each other, Film Flights offer a trio of movies carefully paired around a common theme.
Each week, we explore a specific theme by pairing three movies that speak to each other across time, place, or genre. Some Flights center on visual style, while others on cultural moments or recurring motifs. But all of them are designed to help you watch movies more actively and meaningfully.
This isn’t just a list of recommendations. It’s a weekly invitation to discover how films are connected; to see how ideas echo from one film to another, how imagery evolves, how themes get passed like a torch between generations, nations, and artists.
What You Can Expect
Each Thursday, we publish a new Flight built around a unique theme. You’ll get:
- 🎬 Three films, often mixing well-known classics with lesser-known gems
- 🧠 A short essay connecting the films through a central idea
- 👀 Viewing notes to help you watch with intention
- 🗺️ A new lens through which to explore film history and storytelling
The best part? You don’t have to have seen the movies to gain knowledge and insight about the art of film. But if you do choose to watch them, then these Flights will be there to deepen your appreciation of them.
