The familiar pre-MCU buzz means Deadpool & Wolverine should be a massive hit, with some opening weekend projections around $160 million, the Deadpool franchise’s gross earnings may soon reach over one billion dollars.

Given the Merc With A Mouth’s inescapable popularity, it’s fair to wonder if he’ll ever crossover to other MCU projects. Brandon Davis of Phase Zero asked Kevin Feige just that. Feige said, “Yes, what’s fun about the comics is anybody pops up anywhere” then compared Deadpool’s crossover potential with making the first Avenger’s movie, where he enjoyed taking these people that shouldn’t be together, and put[ting] them together

With the floodgates opened, here are 5 Marvel movies Deadpool may appear in next.

AVENGERS: SECRET WARS (2027)

Avengers: Secret Wars is the most speculated and anticipated movie on Marvel’s slate following Deadpool & Wolverine, and fans are anxious to see what characters may appear in the mysterious project. Rumors claim the End Game sequel will be an even more ambitious crossover than Spider-Man: No Way Home.  It would make sense to include one of the most popular characters.

X-MEN (TBA)

Following Disney’s acquisition of Fox, rumors have swirled surrounding X-Men’s return to cinemas. Deadpool is one the most popular X-Men associated characters, and various X-Men characters have played important roles in all three Deadpool movies as well. So Wade’s appearance in an X-Men film could work.

If in the film, Ryan Reynolds would likely appear alongside The Beast voiced by Kelsey Grammer, who cameoed in the post-credit scene of The Marvels, alongside Patrick Stewart once again reprising his role as Professor Xavier.

SPIDER-MAN 4 (TBA)

Earlier this year Sony Pictures chairman Tom Rothman revealed in an interview with Deadline, that the next Spider-Man film is “going to be a significant event”. A crossover with Deadpool would be an assured hit, and the two wouldn’t be an unprecedented combination either. Some of Deadpool’s most popular comic book team-ups have been with Spider-Man. The two even had a fifty-part series that ran from 2016 to 2019.

AVENGERS VS X-MEN (Rumored)

When Phase Zero asked about the possibility of “an Avengers vs X-Men type event that combines those casts”, Kevin Feige repliedWell, what’s fun is it’s all possible now.” While Deadpool only played a minor role in the original comic book event, Marvel Studios is known for making massive reworks in their adaptations to fit the mold of their current characters.

While doing press for D&W, Reynolds told an interviewer, quote, “I’d love to play with Spider-Man.” Hugh Jackman followed up with, “He’s so cool. That would be great.”

DEADPOOL 4 (Rumored)

As of July 23rd, a fourth Deadpool seems unlikely after Ryan Reynolds claimed on the Tonight Show that “My wife and children will divorce me” if he were to continue the franchise. However things can always change, and the possibility of a sequel shouldn’t just be ruled out.

One possibility could be an adaptation of Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe. Reynolds had allegedly pitched the story to Fox in 2019. The film would’ve been helmed by Michael Bay, and serve as a bloody send-off to the Fox Marvel Universe.

Marvel could also adapt Deadpool Kills Deadpool, where the mainline Deadpool faces against a deranged Deadpool who seeks multiversal destruction and the death of all Deadpools. The story features dozens of Deadpool variants, many of which will appear in the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine.

With Wade officially in the MCU anything can happen. Like Kevin Feige said, “the whole idea is to take these people that shouldn’t be together and put them together… Anybody pops up anywhere.”
