The Quick Explanation
The Menu is mainly a critique of classism within cultures. In the film, it’s directly applied to the culinary world, pitting a $1250 multi-course dining experience against a $9.95 burger. What does the consumer prefer? What does the chef prefer? But the message extends to other arenas. The movie industry comes to mind. The fashion industry. A Danielle Steel book vs. a Virginia Woolf novel. Does being more intellectual always equal better? Does more expensive always equal better?
But the critique isn’t just about the value of the content. The Menu takes aim at both creator and consumer. The issue isn’t necessarily price or headiness, rather the love and passion with which something is created and enjoyed. Each viewer should reflect on their own engagement with what they produce and what you consume. How mindless or mindful are you?

My impreszion aboit the meani g of this move is very difgere t than tge one presented in here. Let me explain:
The experience of gping to the special tasting event= human life experience
The island= human body
The guests= the parts of who we are
Chef Slowik = the ego
Erin= the soul
The concept of conflict between Slowik and Erin= the ego was supposed to serve to the soul but it was not doing this, it was serving the “guardians” of the ego
The cheesburger= the serving of ego to the soul (satisfaction for both/ perfect harmony)
Smores= the ultimate over-self-indulgence of the ego
The inferno= the self-destructive effect of egotistical behaviour
The exit of Erin = the departure of the soul
Erin’s take-away box with unfinished cheeseburger = the value from the experience of life by the soul
Erin’s survival = the immortal nature of the soul
Alternative title- how do I feed the soul and what happens next.
Colours – all kitchen staff in white- very spiritual colour
Loved this movie! It is very complex than just the food-related story.
