The shoulders and mouth of Longlegs

Longlegs box office puts respect on Neon’s name

Longlegs has claimed the highest open-weekend box office in Neon’s history. The $22.6 million gross isn’t just the best opening, it’s also the third-highest domestic gross in the distributor’s history (according to The Numbers). The only films to do better in the United States are I, Tonya ($30m) and Parasite ($53m).

Worldwide, Longlegs sits in 6th place, behind $24m from Immaculate and $32m from Triangle of Sadness and Ferrari at $40m. Parasite, at $254m, is still the only film in Neon’s history to break the $100m mark. But it feels like momentum is on the distributor’s side. With Cuckoo and Palme d’Or-winner Anora still to come, this doesn’t seem like their last win in 2024.
